Palo Alto USD Hoover Elementary School Campus Replacement
60,000 s.f. campus replacement includes demolition of the existing campus.
The XL team was awarded the Hoover Elementary School project with Palo Alto Unified School District. Under a Lease-Leaseback contract, this full campus replacement project will utilize TimberQuest™ for the entire campus. The 60,000 s.f. project includes demolition and site clearance of the existing campus, followed by the construction of a new one-story kindergarten classroom building (4,500 s.f.), a one-story library and administration building (7,500 s.f.), a new, two-story main classroom building (37,500 s.f.) and a new multipurpose building (7,000 s.f.). Site improvements include redesign of the drop-off and pick-up areas. Demolition is scheduled to begin in March of 2024, with the campus completed in time for students to start the 2025-26 school year.
BENEFIT TO CLIENT
- Cost Saving of 27%: when considering traditional build, the initial project cost estimate was $74 million. Currently, with XL utilizing TimberQuest™, we are tracking for the project cost to be $54 million.
- Speed: The entire campus replacement project will be completed in 15 months, which includes four months of site improvement and demolition. The four new buildings will be constructed in only 11 months.
