Genentech’s Clinical Supply Center Named ISPE’s Facility of the Year Overall Winner
Genentech’s Clinical Supply Center was recognized with the ISPE Facility of the Year Awards (FOYA) 2023 Pharma 4.0™ award, recognizing it as a “role model for the application of bold objectives, deep alignment and end-to-end planning, innovation in applying digital technologies, integration and challenging paradigms all lead to a Facility that delivers improved outcomes in terms of construction, safety, facility productivity and patient access to innovative medicines.”
The project went on to be named overall Facility of the Year, the most prestigious global industry award, at the ISPE FOYA Awards Banquet on Sunday, 15 October 2023.
About the Project
The new facility is a 2-story, 78,250 s.f. clinical supply center that plays a central role in supporting Genentech’s robust clinical treatment pipeline. It’s the first state-of-the-art, single-use-technology manufacturing building in the United States and second in the world, developed to meet new pharmaceutical demands. The facility also has a ballroom style design with modular manufacturing areas, ranging from clinical to full production sized lots for optimal flexibility and speed to market.
In his remarks to the FOYA Awards Banquet audience, Jeff Davis, Genentech’s Executive Director & Site Head, credited the high level of collaboration and teamwork that enabled this project to be a success.
