San Juan USD Del Campo High School New Science/Media Commons Building & CTE Modernization
This campus modernization included a new, 35,000 s.f., two-story Science/Media Commons Building and an upgrade to the existing, 16,600 s.f. CTE Training Center.
Working closely with Nacht & Lewis Architects, XL Construction modernized the Del Campo High School campus with a new, 34,400 s.f. ground-up two-story Science/Media Commons Building and upgraded the existing, 11,200 s.f Career and Technical Education (CTE) Training Center. The new building features highly collaborative learning environments including a high-ceiling, multi-media commons for group gatherings. The Science/Media Commons’ exterior cladding features two-story-high bold graphics of molecular structures. The building sits on a new entry plaza. Across campus, the improved CTE center holds the school’s media broadcast classroom and studio, and a fire academy. XL’s CTE renovations included adding an at-bay for a fire engine, a simulated dispatch center, and an ambulance – all to bolster the high school’s career and technical education programs.
