Western Digital R&D Media Tool Relocation

The Galileo project to relocate an entire Western Digital Media process…was a very difficult task. The XL team was clearly able to handle the task and dealt quickly and expeditiously with all issues that developed along the way. The XL team was always available and provided a quick response at all hours of the day.

XL Construction was truly a collaborative partner; working with us in a cost effective, efficient and quality construction project.
Our goal from the business side was to consolidate two large R&D centers with minimum disruption to on-going development activities and of course, with minimum costs.
We had to remove some surplus tools, construct new clean room and relocate tools from the other building.
Pilot-lines in both buildings were still operating during construction and equipment relocation.
All of our tools are very delicate high tech equipment, from ultra-high vacuum deposition tools to super-sensitive hard disk testers.
XL team temporary isolated the areas, construct new clean room and install tools without impacting the operation right next to it.
When we encounter a potential problem or we wanted pull in the schedule, XL project managers quickly gathered the team to come up with a solution and executed it with flawlessly.
