W.L. Gore Santa Clara Manufacturing Plant
Tenant improvements on an existing 69,000 s.f. two-story building.
W.L. Gore, materials innovator and producer of Gore-Tex fabrics, called upon XL Construction to make tenant improvements to an existing 69,000 s.f., two-story building. The new facility includes a 10,000 s.f. class 10,000 cleanroom and new, independent mechanical systems (AHUs, MAUs, chillers, pumps, VFDs) to support the cleanroom. XL created a screened yard adjacent to the exterior of the building, housing three 60-ton chillers and associated pumps. XL installed air handlers within mechanical spaces on the building’s second floor. The building’s existing mechanical systems were re-routed and re-utilized to heat and cool the office, common, and circulation areas. XL also installed new BMS controls. A 10,000 s.f. interactive innovation space with a wet lab is on the second floor. The renovation included Class A office space, including offices, a lunchroom, conference rooms, and workstation areas.
